Lisa M. (Asselin) Burns
1964 – 2026
Lisa M. (Asselin) Burns, age 61, of Thompson, beloved wife of Timothy J. Burns, passed away on Thursday, August 13, 21026 at UMASS Memorial Health Care – University Campus, Worcester, after being stricken ill earlier that day.
Lisa was born in Worcester, daughter of the late Gerard and Irene (Plaza) Asselin. She was an Administrative Assistant, having worked at the former E.P.V. in Oxford, Massachusetts, leaving in 2014 to be a stay-at-home mom and later to help raise her grandchildren.
Lisa was known to have a way of brightening stranger’s days and was always pleasant and polite.
Lisa enjoyed gardening, wildlife, plants and dogs. She was also an avid shopper. A sports fan, she enjoyed the New England Patriots, the Boston Celtics and the Boston Red Sox (when the are winning). Most of all, Lisa loved her family – her husband, her children and especially her five grandsons. Always driving the grandkids to soccer games or swimming lessons. Whatever their needs were, she took the task in hand. She was also always there for her children, to give them a helping hand or simply talk 24 hours a day. She enjoyed the simple things in life, like feeding the bunnies and hanging around with Chucky, the chipmunk.
Lisa is survived by her husband of 39 years, Timothy J. Burns of Thompson; her children, which were bright spots in life, a son, Aaron Burns of Thompson; a daughter and best friend, Jillian Burns of Windham; her five grandsons to whom she was known as Mimi, Jordan, Jason, Christian, Abel and Asher; her dogs Lanny and Gerry and Aarons dog Ivy; several aunts, cousins and a special cousin, Danny. In addition to her parents, Lisa was predeceased by her brother, Brian Asselin.
Lisa will be missed dearly by her family, friends and all that knew her. She is now in God’s hands, and her spirit will live in all who knew her. She was so very much loved by her husband, children, family and friends.
At this time, there are no calling hours or funeral services. Burial will be at a later date in Maine. Shaw-Majercik Funeral Home & Cremation, 48 School Street, Webster has been entrusted with Lisa’s arrangements. A memorial guest book is available at www.shaw-majercik.com and on the Shaw-Majercik Funeral Home Facebook page.
