Lydia E. Smart, age 68, of Spencer, died Wednesday, April 12, 2017, at home.

She was born on December 4, 1948 and lived in in East Wakefield, NH and graduated from Nute High School, Milton, NH in 1966 and just recently attended her 50th class reunion where she was able to reminisce with old friends.  After high school she attended UNH for a few years before moving to MA where she worked at Ludlow Papers and later at Kanzaki Papers in Ware for most of her career.

Lydia is survived by her daughter, Amber L. Start and her partner, Fred Lytle of North Brookfield; a grandson, Bryan J. Start of Watertown; a granddaughter, Sarah E. Start of Salem; and by her youngest grandson, Terry M. Lytle of North Brookfield.  She also leaves a sister, her brothers, many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Services are private and following cremation, she will be returned to her hometown in New Hampshire and buried at a later date.
