Martin W. Doyle, age 91, of Union, CT,  died Friday, August 22, 2014 at Webster Manor.

He leaves his wife, Patricia I. (Welch) Doyle of Union; a daughter, Cathy L. Stockwell of S. Bristol, Maine.  He was predeceased by a sister, Margaret Glinski, of N. Adams, MA.

He was born in Williamstown, MA, son of the late. William and Bessie (Hurley) Doyle and lived in Union for the past 40 years.  He was a U.S. Navy, World War II veteran.  He owned and operated the Travelers Restaurant in Union, and was noted for his vast book collection and generosity with giving many books away.  He loved reading.
