Obituary

Mary F. Aldrich

1939 – 2025

Webster – Mary Frances (DeNardis) Aldrich, 85, beloved wife of the late Robert M. Aldrich, passed away peacefully on January 9, 2025, at UMASS Memorial Health Care – Lake Avenue, Worcester.

Born in Dudley, Mary was the daughter of Thomas and Angela (Esposito) DeNardis and remained a lifelong resident of the Webster-Dudley area. A proud graduate of Bartlett High School, Class of 1957, she took great pride in organizing her class reunions every five years, keeping her classmates connected through the decades.

Mary worked as a teacher's aide in the Webster School System for many years, where her kindness and dedication left a lasting impression on the students and faculty she supported. She was actively involved in her community as a member of the Catholic League of Women at Saint Louis Church, the Sons of Italy, and Beta Sigma Phi, a sisterhood she joined in 1965 and cherished for its close bonds and biannual trips to Boston.

She loved summers on Cape Cod, a cherished family tradition that inspired her loved ones to carry on her affection for the Cape. Mary also enjoyed traveling with the Webster Seniors, embarking on bus trips to destinations like Montreal, Niagara Falls, Atlantic City, Foxwoods, and Mohegan Sun. She found joy in life's simple pleasures—knitting beautiful creations, preparing delicious meals, and spending time with her grandchildren, who brought her immense happiness.

Mary is survived by her sons, Ronald Aldrich and Peter Aldrich of Webster, Brian Aldrich and his wife Rocio of Medfield; her daughter, Paula Barbas of Charlton; her grandchildren, Julianne Barbas and her husband David Gamble, Christopher Barbas, Isaac, Ava, and Brynn Aldrich; her great-granddaughter, Lorelai Gamble; her sister-in-law, Donna DeNardis of Dudley; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother, Thomas DeNardis, and her sisters, Anna Tracey, Bella Siekierski, Josephine Davis, and Christina DeNardis.

Relatives and friends are invited to gather on Friday, January 31, 2025, from 5:00 to 8:00 pm at Shaw-Majercik Funeral Home, 48 School Street, Webster.
