May M. (Briere) Chenard, age 97, of Danielson, the daughter of the late Wilfred & Rose Alma (Robillard) Briere, died Saturday, July 20, 2013 at Pierce Memorial Baptist Nursing & Rehabiliation Center, Brooklyn.  She was born in Rogers, CT on April 3, 1916.

On May 23, 1938 she married Alexander Chenard at Saint Joseph's Church in Dayville, CT.  He predeceased her in 1985.

She is survived by her son, Ronald Chenard and his wife JoElaine of Putnam; her daughter, Norma Harrelle and her husband Peter of Danielson; 10 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews; ans two foster sisters, Angie Bissonnette and Millie Adams.  She was predeceased by her brothers, Wilfred Briere, Arthur Briere, Clarence Briere and her sister, Blanche Morse.

She retired from Belding Hemingway in Putnam after 40+ years of working.  May was a member of the Royal Travelers of Putnam for 30 years and enjoyed being a snowbird in Florida, spending her winters in St. Petersburg and Hallandale, FL.

A Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, August 3, 2013, at 10:00 am in Saint James Church, 12 Franklin Street, Danielson.  Burial will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery.  The family will receive friends and family at the church one hour prior to the Mass.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Pierce Care, 44 Canterbury Road, Brooklyn, CT 06234.  Shaw-Majercik Funeral Home, 48 School Street, Webster, MA is directing arrangements.  A guest book is available at www.shaw-majercik.com .
