Obituary

Devoted husband and father, Michael Joseph Yurkevicius Sr., age 67, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, December 11, 2013. He was a gentle and quiet man.

He is survived by his wife of forty-four years, Margaret (Lynch) Yurkevicius; his sons, Michael Yurkevicius Jr. and Steven Yurkevicius; four brothers, James and Thomas Yurkevicius of Dudley, David Yurkevicius and his wife Lisa of Dudley, Joseph Yurkevicius and his wife Susan of Dudley; two sisters, Linda Perlak and her husband Frank of Chicopee, Carol Jedynasty of Brookfield; a sister-in-law, Catherine Lynch of Canada; nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was born in Webster, MA, son of Sophie (Kapinos) Yurkevicius and Joseph Yurkevicius.  He was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Vietnam era.  Mr. Yurkevicius was a machinist for many years at Metso Automation, formerly known as Jamesbury and prior to that Smith Valve Company.

The funeral will be held on Monday, December 16th, from the Shaw-Majercik Funeral Home, 48 School Street, Webster, with a Mass at 10:00 am in Saint Louis Church, Lake Street, Webster.  Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Dudley.  Calling hours at the funeral home are Sunday, December 15th from 4 to 6 pm.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Madonna House, 2888 Dafoe Road, Combermere, Ontario, Canada K0J 1L0.  A guest book is available at www.shaw-majercik.com .
