Canterbury, CT- Nancy J. (Metro) Smith age 75 died Sunday Feb. 1, 2015 in Hartford Hospital, Hartford, CT.  She was the wife of the late George Smith.  She leaves 2 sons, Stephen Carpenter of Canterbury and Daniel Carpenter of Oneco, CT, 3 daughters; Laura Young of Moosup, Cheryl A. Valera of Plainfield and Kristy Carpenter of Putnam and one brother, Stephen Metro of Norwich and 11 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.  She had 2 sisters that predeceased her. She was born in Scranton, PA daughter of the late, Stephen and Caroline (Doud) Metro and Nancy lived in Canterbury for the past 7 years, prior to that  living in Plainfield, CT.  She was a member of the Jehovahs Witness's Kingdom Hall.  There are no calling hrs. A service will be held Sat. Feb. 21, 2015 at 2:30 PM  in the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 1200 Norwich Rd., Plainfiled, CT. A gathering will follow at the Putnam VFW 207 Providence St. Putnam, CT from 4:00 - 8:00 PM. Omit flowers.
