North Grosvenordale, CT- Paul (Bleachy) R. Blanchette Sr. age 62 died Sunday, March 15, 2015 at the Univ. of MA Memorial Healthcare Medical Center Hospital, Worcester, MA. He leaves his wife of 42 years Sandra L. (Crouteau) Blanchette. He also leaves 3 sons, Paul Jr. of Boynton Beach, FL., Lee and his wife Dawn of N. Grosvenordale, CT and Jon and his wife Amie of Pittsburgh, PA and a daughter in law Jeanne Blanchette of Cranston, RI. He also leaves a brother, Charles Blanchette of Fairfield, CT, and 4 grandchildren, Kelsey Moniz, Nolan, Lauren and Nicholas Blanchette. He was born in Putnam son of the late Roland and Priscilla (Denomme) Blanchette and lived here all his life. He was a graduate of St. Joseph Elementary School and Tourtellote High, Nichols College where he received his BSBA in Accounting. He was active in all civic and fraternal organizations. He was member of the Valley Springs Sportsman Club.
There will be a celebration of life Friday, March 20, 2015 in the Shaw-Majercik Funeral Home, 48 School St., Webster, MA from 5 – 8 PM. A Funeral Mass will be held Saturday, March 21, 2015 in St. Joseph Church, North Grosvenordale, CT at 10 AM. Please go directly to the church. Paul was a life long tax practitioner, former Justice of the Peace, past member of the Finance Board at Day Kimball Hospital, served as a firefighter Community Fire Company, Member of Sons of American Legion Post 1067, member of the Independent Concessions Assoc., Served on the Thompson Board of education for 14 years, chairmen for 8 years, Former CABE member, Lifetime member Thompson Little League, and served as vice president and treasurer, Life member Valley Springs Sportsman club, former Deputy Sheriff Worcester County, Former Treasurer and Assistant Supt. of Business for the SWCRVSD 24 years, former accountant for Haskins and Sells CPA, former mutual manager for Plainfield dog track, former internal auditor for Worcester National Bank, served as clerk Thompson Sewer authority, past director New England Horsemen Benevolant Association, past member Mass Assoc. of Vocational Administrator, eagle scout, Thompson Little league manager, instructor night school tax prep, served on board of directors Woodstock Fair Assoc., and life time member, former standard breed owner and member of numerous thoroughbred Associations, Windham county Demorcratic association., Thompson middle school baseball coach, former board member Charlton Credit Union, , Town of Thompson School Bldg. comm., member for High school addition. .
