Rafael Cruz Gonzalez, age 52, of Fitchburg, died Thursday, August 6, 2026, in Lynn, Massachusetts.

Rafael was born in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico, son of Aurea (Gonzalez Cuevas) Cruz and the late Aguil Cruz Rivera and lived in Fitchburg most of his life. He most recently worked in laundry services.

Rafael was known to have a good heart and was always willing to help. He enjoyed spending time with his family, he enjoyed being outside, walking around, spending time with his friends. He was an excellent cook and was well loved.

In addition to his mother, Aurea Cruz of Fitchburg, Rafael is survived by his sisters, Mayra Cruz of Westminster and Marilyn Cruz of Meridan, CT; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his father, Aguil Cruz Rivera, who passed away on May 22, 2026, he was predeceased by a sister, Nilsa Cruz Gonzelez, who passed away on March 3, 2024 and by a brother, Jose A. Cruz Gonzalez, who passed awa on January 29, 2022.

A funeral service for Rafael will be held on Friday, August 28, 2026, at 10:00 am in IMP Rosa De Saron, 30B Ashby State Road, Fitchburg. Burial will follow in Forest Hill Cemetery, Fitchburg.
