Webster - Robert E. Orn Sr., age 77, of Webster, died Wednesday, June 27, 2012, at Parson Hills Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Worcester.

He was predeceased by his wife, Dorothy E. (Sloan) Orn.  He leaves three sons, Robert E. Orn Jr. of Southbridge, Glenn D. Orn and his wife Amy of Dudley, Gary P. Orn of Southbridge; one daughter, Cindy L. Cappello and her husband Charles of Webster; one brother, Ronald Orn of Worcester; 12 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

He was born in Worcester, son of the late Adolph and Elsie (Stidsen) Orn and lived in Webster most of his life.  He was a United States Navy veteran, having served in the Korean War.  He was a retired steel mill factory worker, having worked at Johnson Steel and Wire in Worcester, as a wire drawer.

Robert was active with the Webster Little League, serving as a coach and as an umpire.  He was an avid candlepin bowler and was on the Candlepin Bowling League.  Additionally, he enjoyed playing softball and played on the Mac Ben League.

There are no calling hours.  A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, July 3, 2012, at 11:00 AM in the Massachusetts Veteran's Memorial Cemetery, Winchendon, MA.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 311 Arsenal Street, Watertown, MA 02472.  Shaw-Majercik Funeral Home, 48 School Street, Webster, is directing arrangements.
