Robert J. Prince, age 89 of Quinebaug, CT, died Thursday, December 12, 2013, at Southbridge Rehabilitation & Nursing Center.

His wife, Helen A. (Damian) Prince died August 4, 1995.  He leaves two sons, Cmdr. Richard P. Prince of Quinebaug, Paul J. Prince of Hendersonville, TN; a daughter, Karen P. George of Bedminster, NJ; two grandchildren and two great-granddaughters.  He was predeceased by a brother, Bernard "Doc" Prince of Southbridge.

Robert was born in Webster, son of the late Mollie (Schminski) Prince and lived in the area most of his life.  He was a World War II Veteran, having served in the Army Air Corp.

He was a graduate of Saint Louis High School and of Springfield College where he received his Bachelor's Degree in History and Education.  He received a Master's Degree in History and a Master's Degree in Education.  He taught history at the Dudley Elementary and Jr. High School.  Additionally, he was a guidance counselor at Woodstock Academy in Woodstock. CT.  He returned to Dudley Jr. High, where he was the principal and later became the Superintendent of the Dudley School System.  Following his tenure as Superintendent he was the principal in the Leicester School system.

The funeral will be held on Tuesday, December 17, 2013, with a Mass at 10:00 am in Saint Stephen's Church, Quinebaug.
