Ronald E. Cormier, age 87, of Gardner, died Monday, January 16, 2017, at Wachusett Manor in Gardner.

He leaves his wife, Gloria M. (Gallant) Cormier of Gardner; two sons, Jean Cormier of Gardner and Paul Cormier of Winchendon; three daughters, Theresa Walker of Gardner, Monique Haley of Gardner and Cecile Leufstedt of Auburn; two brothers, Leo Cormier and Edmond Cormier; 7 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren; he was predeceased by his brother, Edgar Cormier.

Ronald was born in Gardner, son of the late Edouard J. and Celina (Lajoie) Cormier and lived in Gardner all his life.  He was a retired school teacher, having taught for many years at the Holy Rosary School in Gardner.  He was United States Army veteran, having served in the Korean War and attaining the rank of Corporal.

There are no calling hours.  A memorial mass will be held on Thursday, January 26, 2017 at 11 am in Annunciation Parish (formerly Holy Rosary), 135 Nichols Street, Gardner, MA.  Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Gardner.  Shaw-Majercik Funeral Home, 48 School Street, Webster has been entrusted with arrangements.  A guest book is available at www.shaw-majercik.com where you may light a candle or post a message of condolence.
