Ruth Marie "Little Star" (Morse) Bessette 1954 – 2025

On the morning of Monday, December 29, 2025, Ruth Marie "Little Star" (Morse) Bessette, beloved wife of Michael Bessette Sr. passed away in the comfort of her home, surrounded by her family.

Ruth was born on April 27, 1954, daughter of the late Edwin and Ruth (St. George) Morse and she lived in Webster and Charlton all her life.  She was a medical records clerk at the Masonic Home in Charlton for several years.  In addition, Ruth was a Minister, a Justice of the Peace, Notary and Hairdresser.

Ruth was musically inclined and loved to sing.  She enjoyed shopping, crafts and playing bingo.  Above all she loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.  She was a member of the Beagle Club in Charlton, the Lions Club of Charlton, the Elks of Auburn and would often be seen running the concession stand for the Charlton Little League.  She was also a fierce umpire for the league.  Ruth was proud to have been a Native American of Nipmuck heritage.

Ruth leaves her husband of 48 years, Michael Bessette Sr. of Charlton; four daughters, Tina Hamilton and her husband Scot of Warren, MA, Cindy Larson and her companion Dave Macdonald of Charlton, MA, Ruth White and her companion Jerome Ellis Jr. of Putnam, CT, and Tina Andino and her husband Jose Andino of Charlton, MA; two sons, Michael Bessette Jr. of Webster, MA, Steven Bessette and his wife Sharon of Webster; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren, special friends, nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by her brother, Edwin "Moose" Morse and her sister, Lucyann Swenson.

Ruth had a love for all and was loved by all.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Ruth's family on Saturday, January 10, 2026, from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm, with a prayer service at 12:45 pm, in the Shaw-Majercik Funeral Home & Cremation, 48 School Street, Webster.  The family requests that flowers be omitted and in lieu of flowers being sent, donations be made in Ruth's memory to the Notre Dame Hospice, 555 Plantation Street, Worcester, MA 01570.  A memorial guest book is available at www.shaw-majercik.com.
