Stephen George Hast
April 15, 1961
October 2, 2026
Stephen George Hast went to be with the Lord and his father, George Hast, on October 2, 2026.
Born April 15, 1961, to George and Arlene (née Vigeant) Hast, Steve graduated from Oxford High School in 1979. He leaves behind his mother, Arlene; his older brother, Peter, and his wife, Laura Hast; his younger sister, Pamala Holt, and her husband, Thomas Holt; his only daughter, Alyssa Baedke, and her husband, Benjamin Baedke; his grandkids, Eowyn, Delilah, Cass, & Logan Baedke; and his nieces and nephews, TJ, Jimmy, Daniel, Katie, Jenna, and Peter.
If you knew Steve, you can probably hear him laughing. He was quiet and thoughtful, yet had the loudest, most contagious laugh. He never complained. An observer, he enjoyed taking in the sights and sounds of nature, especially the osprey on the lake and the deer at the farm. Steve was a skilled mason and carpenter, learning his trade from his father and working alongside him in the union for many years on buildings, bridges, and other projects. He was also an avid hunter and fisherman and a member of the Webster 200 Sportsman’s Club.
He loved his dog, Callie, “good tunes,” trips to Maine, and a good cigarette. Back in the day, traveling with his camper was something he enjoyed. He will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved him.
On Monday, October 12th, 2026, from 3pm to 5 pm, there will be calling hours with prayer services at 4:45 pm at Shaw-Majercik Funeral Home & Cremation, 48 School Street, Webster, MA.
A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, October 17th at the Webster 200 Sportsman's Club beginning at 3 pm. In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to the Pierpont Meadow Pond Association or the 200 Sportsman's Club; two places he loved.
PLEASE NOTE: PARKING FOR THE FUNERAL HOME IS LOCATED DIRECTLY ACROSS THE STREET FROM THE FRONT ENTRANCE.
