Susan K. (Wetherbee) Mahlert 1947 – 2026

Susan K. (Wetherbee) Mahlert, age 78, wife of the late Richard Mahlert, died on Sunday, March 15, 2026, at Webster Manor, where she had resided for the past three years.

Susan was born in Worcester, MA, daughter of the late Clifford Wetherbee and Grace (Londergan) Liberty and lived in Webster most of her life. She was a retired hairdresser and worked for more than 20 years at Peter's Hair Salon in Dudley.

Susan loved to play golf, go to the casino with her friends, and she adored her loving cat, Thomas. She also enjoyed "girls night" and playing cards.

Susan is survived by her two children, Cheri Murphy and her companion, Stuart Mannion, of East Stroudsburg, PA, and Joseph Blanchard and his companion, Melissa Sinkis, of Milford; her siblings, Dick Wetherbee of North Fort Meyers, FL., Clifford Weatherbee of Texas, Robert Liberty of Worcester, Barbara St. Jean of Myrtle Beach, SC, Lisa Fenuccio of Northport, Fl and Lori Hastings of Sturbridge ma; three grandchildren, Ashlee Burns, Joshua Burns and his wife Carrie, and Madison Blanchard; three great-grandchildren, Charlotte Burns, Daniella Burns and Winnifred Burns. In addition to her husband, Richard Mahlert, she was predeceased by a brother, Robert Wetherbee and by a great-grandson, Lucas Burns.

Susan also leaves her best friend of 30 years Mike Capsaz.
