Oxford- Sylvia L. (Mills) Brown, age 80, died Saturday, July 16, 2016, at the Brookside Rehab and Healthcare Center in Webster.
She was the wife of the late Edward Staal, who died in 1973 and the late Edwin J. Brown Jr., who died in 1990. She leaves two sons, Edward Staal of Michigan and James R. Staal of New York; three daughters, Gloria Walker and her husband Keith of North Grosvenordale, Julia R. Myrick and her husband Daniel of Weare NH, Verona Jo Nace and her husband Sean of Paxton, MA; nine stepchildren; seven grandchildren, Sarah Nace Cameron Nace, Jocelyn Nace, David Myrick, Rebecca Walker, Nicholas Walker and Zachary Walker; a sister, Virginia Hart of Michigan. She was predeceased by a daughter, Laura Lee Staal; and by four brothers, David, Eddie, Daniel and George.
She was born in Gloucester, daughter of the late Calvin C. and Rose E. (Burke) Mills and lived in the area most of her life. She was retired from Raytheon where she worked as a assembler. She enjoyed quality time with her family.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the home of Verona Jo Nace,124 Richards Avenue, Paxton, MA 01612 on Sunday, August 21, 2016 at 1 PM. Omit flowers and the family requests that donations be made in her memory for Cardiac Research at the University of Massachusetts Hospital, Worcester, MA.
