Barre- Thomas C. Close age 65 passed away Saturday, March 5, 2022 at Heywood Hospital in Gardner, MA.  He leaves his wife of thirty-eight years, Christina H. (Hanson) Close, and three children, Jennifer Page (Daniel) of Ballston Spa, NY; Holly Simeone (Adam) of Pittsfield, MA; Thomas C. Close Jr. (Tessa Anderson) of Boston, MA; as well as two grandchildren, Rylan and Tiernan Page and a plethora of nieces and nephews.  Tom also leaves three sisters, Elizabeth Tuck of Long Island, Nancy Prionti of GA and Susan Balliet of Roanoke, VA.

He was born in Boston, MA son of the late Hugh Close and Marjorie (Homer) Close and had lived in Barre most of his life.  He was a US Navy Veteran serving 1977-1981 as an aircraft mechanic on the USS John F. Kennedy.  Following his naval service, he spent forty years working in aviation as both an aircraft mechanic and Director of Maintenance for Jet Aviation.  Tom enjoyed working with aircraft, building model trains and visits with his grandchildren.

There are no calling hours.  A celebration of life will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made in his memory to The Wounded Warrior Project.  The Shaw-Majercik Funeral Home, 48 School St., Webster, MA has been entrusted with his arrangements.  A guest book is available at www.shaw-majercik.com where you may post a condolence or light a candle.
