Wanda E. Donahue, age 89 of Dudley, MA passed away March 28, 2015 in Kingwood, Texas after a brief illness. Wanda was born October 13, 1925 in Woodstock, CT to William and Felicia (Murawski) Kulis. She grew up in Southbridge, MA where she graduated from Mary E. Wells High School. Wanda met and married Edwin Donahue and they were blessed with two wonderful sons. Wanda and Ed were married for nearly 50 years before his death in 1997. Her youngest son John (Jack) Donahue died in 1993. She is survived by her son Edwin Donahue, Jr. and his wife Karen Jankowski of Kingwood, Texas, her sister Jennie Hendricks of Southbridge, sister-in law Josephine Kulis of Southbridge, and many nieces and nephews.
Wanda was preceded in death by her brother Mario Kulis and her sisters: Mary Mendala, Helen Desrosiers, and Adele Bachand.
In addition to being a devoted wife and Mother, Wanda worked for Omnitec /Gentex Corporation in Dudley for nearly 30 years. She had a close relationship with her sisters, nieces and nephews and was grateful for the time spent with them and their families. Wanda made frequent visits to Texas to spend time with her son and his wife and she became very attached to their pets, which she referred to as her "Grandchildren". Also she very much enjoyed her road trips with family to the CT casinos – she could spend hours on the slot machines. An avid crossword puzzle solver, she also loved scratch tickets, playing Bingo, and watching the Red Sox on TV. Wanda was proud to have been able to live independently at home until becoming ill.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, April 18, 2015 beginning at 8:00 am at Shaw-Majercik Funeral Home, 48 School Street, Webster, MA. Following the visitation, there will be a Mass at 10:00am at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 24 Dudley Hill Road, Dudley, MA.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Wanda's memory to Saint Anne Shrine, Fiskdale, MA, The American Stroke Association, or the charity of your choice.
