April 20, 1929 – February 7, 2024 (age94) passed away Wednesday February 7th, 2024, at the Landmark Medical Hospital Woonsocket, RI. 

Peter leaves behind his beloved wife of 36 years Carol (Carrabba) Poirier of North Smithfield, RI.  He was predeceased by his late wife Joyce Poirier (Tibbets). Peter also leaves behind two sons, Darrell Poirier and his wife Barbara Poirier of Woodstock, CT, and Davy Poirier and his wife Lori Poirier, of Sutton, MA, 6 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, two stepsons Michael Carrabba and his wife Tracy of Southbridge, MA, Lisa Deslauries and her husband Don of North Smithfield, RI, James Carrabba and his wife Heather of PA, and 5 step grandchildren. Peter was predeceased by eight siblings John Poirier, Antonio Poirier, George Poirier, Glowanna Shepard, Jeannette Cullina, Ann Adams, Olive Forget and Cecile Andersen.

Born in Millbury Ma. He was the son of Louis and Anna (Provencher) Poirier.  As a veteran Peter served six years in the US Army.

Peter last worked in field service logistics for Digital Equipment Corporation.  He enjoyed golfing, going to the casino with his friends, playing cards, going out to lunch with his wife Carol, and going out to dinner with family and friends.

There are no calling hours, and the burial will be in Millbury Cemetery, Millbury, MA, April 20, 2024, at 11 AM.  Please omit flowers and donations may be made to the Veterans Coffee house Danielson, CT.  the Shaw-Majercik Funeral Home, 48 School St, Webster, MA.  A guest book is available at www.shaw-majercik.com where you may post a condolence or light a candle.
