Webster – Athina (Mici) Bilis, age 94, beloved wife of the late Hristos Bilis, died Tuesday, August 27, 2024, at Webster Manor, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born February 10, 1930, daughter of the late Lazaros and Frosina (Soulioti) Mici and has lived in Webster for over 50 years. She immigrated from Albania to Greece in 1946 with her husband Hristos, where they lived and raised their children until 1970, at which time they immigrated to America, where they made their home. She was a devout member of the Saints Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Church in Webster. She was a member of the Ladies of Philoptokos Society. Athina worked as a seamstress at Ethan Allen. She enjoyed crocheting, cooking, sewing, singing and most of all spending time with her family.
Her husband, Hristos Bilis died in 2004. She is survived by three sons, Demitrios Bilis of Dudley, George Bilis and his wife Deborah of Dudley, Athanasios Bilis and his wife Lisa of Webster; three daughters, Iaonna Proimakis and her husband Aristos of Fall River, Chrysanthi Porrazzo and her husband Peter of Brockton, Theoktisti Chito and her husband Michael of Quinebaug; one sister, Vasilika of Albania; a brother, Kico of Albania; 12 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by three children, Chrysostomos, Stavrini and Elefteria; by three sisters, Evangelia, Persfefoni and Antonetta, all of Albania, by a brother Giorgo, also of Albania, and by a daughter-in-law, Michelle.
Calling Hours will be held on Saturday, August 31,2024, from 10:00 to 11:00 am in Saints Constantine & Helen Greek Orthodox Church, 37 Lake Parkway, Webster. Athina’s Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, August 31, 2024, at 11:00 am, in Saints Constantine & Helen Greek Orthodox Church. Committal Services will follow at Mount Zion Cemetery in Webster.
