Barbara Lucy Johnson Rawson passed peacefully into Heaven on December 21, 2021.

Barabara was born on August 25, 1927, the daughter of the late Robert and Alice (Corttis) Johnson. She was a 1946 graduate of Tourtellotte Memorial High School. She married David E. Rawson on March 15, 1947 and they made their home in Thompson.

She was the beloved mother of two daughters, Cheryl Jane Foshay of Ayer, MA and Lynn Landry and her husband Al of Thompson. Barbara loved and was proud of her grandaughters Julie Foshay and her husband Paul Alfredson of Ayer, MA , and Karen and her husband Ed Pfleger of Tucson, AZ. She was the loving “Moir Moir” of her great grandchildren Jocelyn Foshay of Dallas, Texas, Aaron Alfredson of Westminister, MA, and Katerina, John, Martina and Lucille Pfleger of Tucson, AZ. She is also survived by a neice, several nephews, many cousins and their families, as well as many friends.

Barbara lived in Thompson throughout her life and had a lifelong interest in horses. She  participated in local parades, horse shows and trail rides, and  was a 4-H Club Leader. She was a member of the Tri-State Horsemen’s Association, the L & G Riding Club, the CT Horse Council, and Water’s Farm in Sutton, MA.  She was a former member of theThompson Hill Fire Engine Co. Auxiliary and the Thompson Historical Society. She was a member of the Thompson Congregational Church and was active in many roles over the years, as a Sunday School teacher, in the Ladies Aid Society and on the Executive Council, as well as being part of the Eastern CT Christian Women’s Association. She truly was blessed by the fellowship of her Church Family and especially enjoyed Sunrise Services, worship at the Brandy Hill Church, and singing hymns.

Barbara and her husband travelled thoroughout the United States. She treasured her horses and donkeys, her dogs, her gardens and her many friendships. She often spoke of how fortunate she was to have lived a good life.
