Carmelo N. "Melo" Garcia, 45, of Worcester, died Sunday, December 3, 2023 at UMass Memorial Medical Center-University Campus, after a long courageous 16 year battle with Kidney failure caused by Lupus Disease.
He leaves his mother, Emilia Ramos-Cwalvente' a son, Carmelo X. Garcia; a daughter, Briana Shays; two grandchildren; Jaylianni and Kiing; his long time companion and caregiver, Mary Viera all of Worcester.
his siblings; Javier Zamot-Ramos, Jessica Garcia-Ramos; Damaris Garcia-Ramos. Dianne Garcia-Ramos. Alexander Garcia-Ramos and Gisela Garcia-Ramos; many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father, Carmelo N. Garcia-Villaran and his brother, Jomar Garcia-Ramos.
He was born and raised in Arecibo, Puerto Rico and moved to Worcester in 1998,
Carmelo was avid New York Yankee's fan. He also enjoyed playing the güiro, dancing and fishing with his son,
Carmelo.
The family would like to thank all of the staff at UMass Medical Center and University Dialysis for all of their care over the years.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, December 8th at 11am in Shaw-Majercik Funeral Home, 48 School Street, Webster. A calling hour will be held from 10am to 11am prior to the service. Burial will be private.
