North Grosvenordale, CT – Celia A. (Kasierski) Servant, 102, passed away peacefully at home with her loving daughter and son in law by her side.
Celia was born in Webster, MA on November 18, 1918, daughter of the late Frank and Stasia (Jankowski) Kasierski. Before retiring, Celia worked as a clerk for the American Optical Company in Southbridge for many years; she was a devout member of St. Joseph’s Basilica in Webster. In retirement, Celia revisited and enhanced her crafting skills to create many beautiful quilts, rugs, paintings, and knitted items. Later, she also developed an interest in politics and became an avid television spectator of golf, football, baseball, and women's soccer.
Being predeceased by her husband the late Norman Servant, Celia is survived by her daughter Norma Wetherell and her husband George of East Woodstock, CT; her grandson William Heckendorf and his wife Andrea, and their children Ainsley and Charlotte all of Woodstock, CT; her grandson Bryan Heckendorf and his girlfriend Jill Thompson of Glastonbury, CT; she was also predeceased by her brothers Leo and Joseph, and by her sisters Angela and Frances.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held Friday, March 26, 2021 at 10 AM in St. Joseph Basilica, Whitcomb St., Webster, MA following will be a private graveside service for family only in St. Joseph Garden of Peace, Webster. Funeral arrangements are under the care of the Shaw-Majercik Funeral Home.
