Webster – Daniel C. Knecht, 64, passed away on Tuesday March 22, 2022 while at the UMass Memorial Medical Center in Worcester after a long battle with Multiple Sclerosis.
Daniel was born in Waterbury, CT on February 23, 1958 son of the late Clifford and Amelia (Artman) Knecht. For many years Daniel worked as a machine operator; he was heavily involved with Civil War Reenactments working on several films such as Civil Action and the North and the South. Daniel enjoyed traveling, collecting antiques, and caring for his animals. Daniel hopes to continue the fight against MS by donating his brain for medical research.
Daniel is survived by his longtime and loving companion Carolyn Rocheleau of Webster; two sons; four stepchildren: Michael Gilman of Oxford, Chrissy Ferris of Webster, Karaie Curl of North Grosvenordale, CT, and Tammy Hartland of Dudley; his brother Robert Hein of Sandy Hook, CT; two sisters: Dorothy Mackey of Waterbury, CT, and Edna Knecht of Newtown, CT; seven grandchildren: Jeremy, Dylan, Macy, Jacob, Harmony, Josh, and Julie; he also leaves many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Daniel also leaves behind his best friend Fred the Dog and Lucky AKA Jaws Almighty.
A Celebration of Daniel’s life will be celebrated and announced at a later date.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Shaw-Majercik Funeral Home.
