David Duquette Obituary

North Grosvenordale, CT – David J. Duquette, 66, passed away at home on Wednesday June 23, 2021 while surrounded by his loving family.

David was born in Putnam, CT on October 26, 1954, son of the late Arthur and Josephine (Kruzel) Duquette.  David worked as a propane service technician for many years with the Medway Oil Company.  Living in the area all his life David was a life member of the Valley Springs Sportsman’s Club serving on the board of directors and the house committee; he managed the hall rentals, constructed the club’s barbecue pit, assisted with the expansion of the pond, and even enclosed the bar area to help keep everyone safe and healthy during the covid pandemic.  David was to “go to guy” at Valley Springs, he was always ready to offer a helping hand.  David enjoyed taking long rides on his motorcycle and spending quality time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

David is survived by his wife Barbara A. (Oakes) Duquette; two sons: Ryan J. Duquette of North Grosvenordale and Alan Duquette of Brooklyn, CT; two stepdaughters: Heather Decker and her husband Dominic of New Oxford, PA and Karen Stowe and her husband Daniel of South Windsor, CT; two brothers: Ronald Duquette and his companion Carol of Dayville and Paul Duquette and his wife Brenda of North Grosvenordale; he also leaves six grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and many dear relatives and friends.

A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Saturday July 31, 2021 at 10:30 am in St. Joseph's Church, 18 Main Street North Grosvenordale, CT followed by a celebration of David’s life beginning at 12:00 pm at the Valley Springs Sportsman’s Club, 65 Valley Road North Grosvenordale, CT.
