Thompson, CT – Debra J. (Appleby) Carlson, 68, passed away on Thursday July 29, 2021 at the Central Hospital in New Britain, CT.

Debra was born in New Haven, CT on August 12, 1952, daughter of the late Leonard and Shirley (Hackley) Appleby; she worked as a CNA for Lanessa Extended care for many years; she enjoyed tending to flowers in her garden, taking trips to the ocean to see lighthouses, but most of all, Debra loved spending time with her beloved grandchildren.

Debra will be deeply missed by her four sons: William Thomas of N. Stonington, Richard Carlson Jr. of Thompson, Andrew Carlson of Thompson, and Justin Carlson of Thompson; her daughter Tammy Vallee of Missouri; her brother Leonard J. Appleby Jr; three sisters: Cynthia Barone of Clinton, Nancy Cordero of Clinton, and Donna Foerch of Florida; eleven grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, many relatives and precious friends.

Private funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Shaw-Majercik Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, Debra’s family requests that contributions in her memory be sent to the American Cancer Society.
