North Grosvenordale, CT- Donald R. Wallen age 92 passed away at University of Massachusetts Health Care Center, Worcester, on Monday, January 8, 2024. He leaves his wife and best friend of 64 years Jacqueline S. (Lemieux) Wallen, his son Randal D. Wallen and his wife Sandra of Leicester, MA, a daughter Denise A. Wallen of Casa Grande, Arizona, a granddaughter Sherrie Roberts Blaine and four great grandchildren. Donald was predeceased by a son Neil Wallen, a brother Francis Wallen and a sister Teresa.
He was born in Putnam, CT, son of the late Samuel Wallen and Rose Ann (Loiselle) Wallen and lived in North Grosvenordale since 1968. Prior to that he lived in Webster, MA. Donald was a US Army Veteran serving as a senior combat medic in Korea. Before retiring he worked for Galileo Electro-Optics in quality control, and prior to that was a welder for 29 years at InterRoyal. He was a weather enthusiast and enjoyed gardening, following the Red Sox, going to military band concerts and traveling. He loved his family and his home, and he will be greatly missed.
Calling hours for Donald will be held Thursday, January 18, 2024, in the Shaw-Majercik Funeral Home, 48 School St., Webster from 4 – 6 PM with military honors in the funeral home at 5:45 PM. Please omit flowers and donations may be made in his memory to the Webster-Dudley Veterans Council, Veteran Way, Webster, MA 01570.
