Worcester – Evelio Cruz Garcia, 67, passed away on Friday January 27, 2023 while surrounded by his loving family at the Brigham & Women’s Hospital.
Evelio was born in Coamo, Puerto Rico on October 21, 1955, son of the late Quinten Cruz and Maria Garcia. Evelio worked as a machine operator for many years, prior to his retirement; he very much enjoyed cooking for his family and friends, fishing. Evelio would often be found relaxing on his hammock; he adored his late wife, and loved spending time with his family.
Being predeceased by his loving wife Elba Grajales and their son Felix Grajales, Evelio is survived by his sons Evelio Cruz Jr of Brookfield and Geovanni Cruz of Worcester; his daughters Jessica Grajales of Webster; Daisy Grajales of Worcester, and Arely Cruz Syracuse, NY; he also leaves eight brothers, five sister; twelve grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; he also leaves many nieces, nephews, relatives, and dear friends.
All are welcome to attend calling hours on Wednesday February 1, 2023 from 5:00-8:00 pm at Rice Funeral Home, under the direction of Shaw-Majercik Funeral Home, 300 Park Avenue Worcester, MA. The Funeral Service will be held on Thursday February 2, 2023 at 10:00 am in the funeral home. Comitttal Services will follow in Hope Cemetery.
