My deepest sympathy to the Baker family. I remember him fondly from the days when we were small children and he was on the Dudley Fire Dept with my Dad, Joe Maciejewski. He was a wonderful, kind, caring, man. Looked out for and cared for all. Rest in peace, Mr Baker.

1Sgt. Baker was the most upstanding and loyal person I have ever had the privilege of knowing. He was definitely an man's man and a soldiers soldier. He lead by example. Always willing to help where needed. A no nonsense man who new how to cut out the BS and get right to the job and get it done. He helped many a young soldier (and a few of the older ones) become better soldier and better men. We worked together in both the military and civilian life, He was a true inspiration. I will miss him.

To the family of First Sergeant Donald Baker:

My deepest sympathy. I served under First Sergeant Baker at the Webster Armory in the 181 Engineers from 1966-1972. First Sergeant Baker taught countless young men, myself included, the value of service and the responsibility of being a man. Throughout the chaos and uncertainty of the Vietnam era, he offered stability and a sense of direction with his steady, calm demeanor and concern for others.

To the Baker family:
I was very saddened to hear of the passing of my very close friend, Donald over this past week. Not only did he serve his Country honorable and proudly, he also served his Community to his fullest capacity. May he rest in eternal peace.
