Millbury - Freeman B. Guiou passed away on Sunday January 16 2022 at St. Vincent Hospital.
Freeman was born on November 21, 1929 in Mapleton, ME. He is survived by his daughter Cynthia Paradise and husband Paul of Millbury; his son Kevin and wife Patty of Webster; He also leaves his three grandchildren, Melissa Paradise of Whitinsville, Erik Guiou of Webster, and Danyel Guiou of Putnam Ct. Freeman is predeceased by his wife Doris of 62 years, and their youngest daughter Donna Guiou, of Millbury.
Freeman was a dedicated husband, committed father and a loving grandfather. He was raised as a potato farmer before serving in the army and eventually working as a Pipe Fitter for Wyman Gordons, retiring 50 years later as a Rigger. Freeman spent his free time putting around in his workshop or tending to his yard. He loved his blue birds and eating a fresh batch of fiddleheads. At the end of a long day, he found comfort in a warm cup of Salada tea. Freeman never lost his sense of humor or gentle manners in times of struggle. His patience will never be forgotten and always remembered - his legacy remains. He will always be remembered as our Aroostick Rooster. In lieu of flowers and in honor of his admiration for nature the family asks that donations be made to plant a tree in his honor.
Private funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Shaw-Majercik Funeral Home.
