Gina Maria (Cormier) Suomala

Fitchburg – Gina Maria (Cormier-Hultgren) Suomala, 57, formerly of Oxford, passed away peacefully at home while surrounded by her loving family on Monday May 31, 2021 following a short but courageous battle with cancer.

Gina was born in Worcester, daughter of the late Jeremiah and Carol (Joyce) Flynn. She was an entrepreneur and a woman of many talents. Gina was the owner of Speedy Coin-op and Cleaners Laundromat in Worcester and of Hultgren and Sons’ Trucking in Oxford, while also working as a real estate agent for many years at Coldwell Banker Realty in Worcester. She greatly enjoyed spending time outside in the sunshine, tending to her garden, relaxing on the beach, antiquing, crafting, and most of all spending time with her beloved family.

Gina was a loving and caring person who will be deeply missed by her husband Mark Suomala of Fitchburg, her son John Hultgren Jr. of Webster, four daughters: Erica Mucci of Oxford, Tia Gonzalez of Webster, Angela Cormier of Woodstock, CT, and Samantha Suomala of Fitchburg, two brothers: Jerimiah Flynn and Shawn Flynn both of Worcester, and two sisters: Tina Mastrototaro of Worcester and Kathy Richard of Auburn. She is also survived by her eight grandchildren whom she absolutely adored. Gina is predeceased by her ex-husband John Hultgren Sr. of Oxford.

A Memorial gathering celebrating Gina’s life will be held on Friday June 11, 2021 from 5-7pm at the Shaw-Majercik Funeral Home, 48 School Street Webster, MA.
