Grace (Giovinazzi) Konkel

Charlton- Grace (Giovinazzi) Konkel age 89 passed away Sunday, May 29, 2022 at the Rose Monahan Hospice Residence, Worcester, MA.  She was the wife of the late William “Bushy” Konkel who passed away Dec. 3, 2015.  Grace is survived by two daughers, Kathy Meagher and her husband Franny of Webster, Jane Gale and her husband Jay Gale of Charlton, a son Billy Konkel and his wife Dawna of Charlton, five grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.  Grace was predeceased by her son Lenny Konkel, two grandsons, Joshua Meagher and Jeremy Konkel.  Grace was born in Webster daughter of the late Egidio Giovinazzi and Grace O’Rourke Giovinazzi and lived in Charlton most of her life. Grace enjoyed cooking, baking, bingo, bowling, cards with friends at the Golden Greek Restaurant in Southbridge, Diamond Art with friends and GWA.  She was a master pie maker, making pies for friends at a moment’s notice especially her famous Banana cream pies!  In short, to sum up Grace, “to know her was to love her.”  Her generosity was only surpassed by her compassion and love for people. Her love for her home, farm and family was paramount. The funeral will be held from the Shaw-Majercik Funeral Home, 48 School St. Thursday, with a graveside service at 10 am in Mt. Zion Cemetery, Webster.  Calling hours at the funeral home will be held Wednesday, June 1, 2022, 5pm- 7pm.
