Joan Mellen Obituary

Fiskdale/Brimfield- Joan C. (Hoher) Mellen 83 passed on Wednesday, November 28, 2018 after a courageously battling Alzheimer's.  Joan leaves her loving husband and best friend of 43 years Clif J. Mellen. Joan was born in Manchester, Ct in 1936 to Franz and Phyllis (Burnam) Hoher.  During her child hood Joan and her family lived in many parts of the US returning to Manchester, she graduated from Manchester High in 1954.  Joan a strong and loving women raised 8 children.  She loved spending time with her family and traveling, especially to Key West, FL.  She leaves her children Rikki (Everett) and husband Craig Carpenter of SC, Chris Everett and wife Trish of NY, Steven Everett and wife Lynda of Columbia, CT, Ronnie Everett and wife Evelyn of Monson, MA, Randy Perigo and wife Chantal of Ellington, CT, Shelly Everett and partner Keith Dolin of Tolland, CT, Michael Everett and wife Lisa of NC.  She is survived by her sister Susan Elkhay and brother Frank Hoher of Manchester, CT and several grandchildren and great grandchildren.  Joan is predeceased by a son Scott and daughter Ann and 2 great grandsons, Anthony and Andrew.  A longtime employee of JD Realty of Manchester and Ole Sturbridge Realty and together with her husband owned and managed Mellen Mountain Antiques.  The family would like to thank Summit Eldercare in Webster.  Services will be private, a celebration of life will be held at a future date.  The Shaw-Majercik Funeral Home, 48 School St., Webster, MA has been entrusted with her arrangements.  A guest book is available at www.shaw-majercik.com where you may post a condolence or light a candle.
