Johanna (Jean) Woleader Fullam, 92, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family. Jean was more commonly known as “Meme” to those who loved and knew her. She was born in Worcester, MA, on February 18, 1932. She graduated from North Brookfield High School and married William F. Fullam III in 1955. Heavily involved in the Catholic church, Jean was an active member of St. Joseph’s Women’s Club and St. Joseph’s Bereavement Committee. She was a long-time employee of the I.G.A. Supermarket as well as a cafeteria worker for the North Brookfield School System.
Jean is predeceased by her husband, William F. Fullam III, and her son, James A. Fullam, six brothers and one sister. Her beloved brother, Robert Woleader, passed in 2023, and she leaves behind his wife, Violet Woleader, and her two nephews. She leaves her daughter, Martha Fullam Gobi, and her son, William J. Fullam, and his wife, Shelley. She also leaves her four grandchildren, Meghan Gianfriddo and her husband, Nick, Joshua Gobi, Sadie Fullam, and her partner, David, and Logan Fullam and his partner, Brooke. Jean was blessed to have six great-grandchildren, Luke, Olivia, Cole, Nicolai, Maddison, and Marlee.
Jean was an avid cook, and thoroughly enjoyed hosting her family and friends for quality time together, she was especially well known for her award-winning apple pies. She had several other hobbies, including quilting, crafting, playing cards, gardening, and sitting on her porch watching and feeding the birds. Jean loved to entertain and was proud to be a part of her community and reside on Walnut Street. Jean made endless memories with her family during vacations at the beach as well as enjoying years of travel with her husband. She was also extremely proud of her Lithuanian heritage and did not miss a chance to share this information with a listening ear. Jean’s spirit and enthusiasm could be felt in every story she told. She had a love of life, was a rare gem, and will be missed by all that the honor and privilege of knowing her.
The funeral for Jean will be held on Friday, November 15, 2024, at 11 am in Saint Joseph's Church, 296 North Main Street, North Brookfield. There will be a reception at Salem Cross Inn, 260 West Main Street, West Brookfield beginning at 1:00 PM.
