John J. McCrudden Jr.
United States Air National Guard Veteran
1940 – 2026
John J. McCrudden Jr., age 85, beloved husband of the late Mary Ann (Kinsalas) McCrudden, died on Sunday, January 25, 2026, at his home.
John was born in West Greenwich, RI, son of the late John J. Sr. and Jewel (Durfee) McCrudden.
John was a civilian firefighter on the base of Fort Devens, a job he truly enjoyed. In years past, John and Mary Ann were the owners of Ocean State Fence Company. John also worked as a security guard for EMC in Hopkinton years ago and also was a salesman for Sears when he and his family lived on Cape Cod.
John was a veteran of the Air National Guard and served in Germany.
He enjoyed traveling, having been on many cruises including the Panama Canal, Alaska and the Virgin Islands. He loved going to the beach, clamming and quahogging. He also enjoyed going to yard sales.
John is survived by two daughters, Laurel A. McCrudden, with whom he made his home in Webster, and by Bonnie Jean Monroe of Hopedale; two grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. In addition to his wife of 62 years, Mary Ann (Kinsalas) McCrudden, who died in 2023, John was predeceased by a son, John J. McCrudden III in 2019.
A Celebration of John’s life will be held at Point Breeze Restaurant, 114 Point Breeze Road, Webster, MA on Saturday, April 4, 2026, beginning at 1 pm. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Webster-Dudley Veterans Council, 4 Veterans Way, Webster, MA 01570. Shaw-Majercik Funeral Home & Cremation, 48 School Street, Webster, MA has been entrusted with John’s arrangements.
