Webster- Joseph B. Brody age 86 passed away Monday, February 5, 2024, at Hartford Hospital. He was the husband of the late Patricia B. (Sandecki) Brody who passed away in 2017.
He leaves two sons, Richard J. Brody and his wife Robin of Clinton and Kevin Brody and his wife Wendy of Woodstock, CT, four grandchildren Alyssa, Samantha, Zachary and Emma all of which was his pride and joy. Joe also leaves a sister Margie Bielik of Torrington, CT., he was predeceased by a two brothers, Frank Brody of Webster and John Brody of NY and a sister, Anna Grzych of Thompson, CT.
He was born in Dudley, son of the late Andrew Brody and Sophie (Katrenak) Brody and lived in Webster most of his life. He was a Staff Sargent in the US Army during the Vietnam era. Joe was a retired Machinist.
Joe was a member of the Singletary Rod and Gun, Thompson Rod and Gun, Slovak Sokol. He enjoyed watching Emma dance, proud of Zach when he made Eagle Scout, Samantha fishing, coin collecting, Alyssa telling of her adventures in world travel, and watching westerns with his cat. Joe was a collector at St. Anthony’s of Padua church and a member his whole life.
The funeral will be held Friday, February 9, 2024, from the Shaw-Majercik Funeral Home, 48 School St., Webster with a Mass of Christian burial at 10 AM in St. Anthony of Padua Church, Dudley. Burial with military honors will be in St. Joseph’s Garden of Peace Webster. A calling hour will be held from 8:45 AM till 9:45 AM in the funeral home.
