Joshua Lopez Obituary

Worcester – Joshua Anthony Lopez, 24, was taken from us too soon on Monday July 6, 2020.

Joshua is survived by his mother Zorana Lynn (Velazquez) Lopez of Bronx, NY; his father Gilbert Anthony Lopez of Worcester, MA; his stepmother Yuldalina Bisono of Worcester, MA; his stepfather Victor Benitez of Bronx, NY; his sister Jazlynn Denise Lopez of Worcester, MA; his brother Jacob Elias Lopez of Bronx, NY;  two stepbrothers: Isael Bisono and Christian Puello of Worcester, MA; two stepsisters Hennessy Puello of Worcester, MA and Leah Benitez of Bronx, NY; his companion Amelya Haggerty of Worcester, MA who is carrying their unborn child Jayce Lopez; he also leaves many relatives, as well as countless friends and loved ones.

Joshua was born in Bronx, NY on June 8, 1996.  Residing in Worcester, MA for most of his life, Joshua attended and graduated from the University Park Campus High School class of 2014; he then went on to the Rob Roy Academy where he studied to become a barber.  Josh has been a pillar of the City View Barbershop on Suffolk Street in Worcester, where he was always happy to greet you with a smile and become your friend.  Anyone who knew Joshua could tell you he truly considered the needs of others before his own.

Besides being a skilled barber, Joshua was also a highly and uniquely talented artist; at times he would inject his talent as a barber into his projects by using hair to create breath-taking works of art.

For most of his life, Joshua was an active, faithful, and devoted member of the Christian Community Church where he would often volunteer at youth events.  No matter where you found Joshua, he would most certainly be doing his utmost to brighten someone’s day and defend anyone who was in trouble.  Even in death, Joshua is still helping a myriad of people by donating his life-saving organs to help others in need, again thinking of the needs of others.

Although Joshua’s untimely passing has pierced the hearts and souls of his beloved family, friends, and the entire community; he has left a shining beacon of hope. Joshua is truly an example to all of us of how-to bring light to those in darkness, and love to those in despair. Joshua, may you rest in peace until that glorious day when we are all reunited in the second and glorious coming of our Lord, God, and Savior Jesus Christ.  Amen.

All are welcome to pay their respects to Joshua and his family on Saturday July 11, 2020 from 5:00 – 8:00 pm at the Christian Community Church, 108 Beacon Street Worcester, MA.
