Justyne Elizabeth Myers, 29, passed away at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston on April 2, 2023 with her mother, father and husband at her side.
Justyne was born in Norway Maine on May 15, 1993. She was deeply loved from the day she was born. She was always very mature even at an early age and many believed she was an old soul. She spent most of her childhood being spoiled by her grandparents and her aunts and uncles Mark, Michelle, Cheri, Clint and Michelle. She was beyond helpful with the care and upbringing of her siblings, Jessika and William whom she loved fiercely.
Justyne graduated from Gould Academy in 2011 and was early acceptance to Mt. Holyoke college (15). Upon graduation she was hired at Blue Hive in Worcester Massachusetts. She continued to work up until the last few weeks of her life. We truly want to thank them for being so exceptionally wonderful to our girl, their kindness towards her is without words.
During her senior year at Mt. Holyoke, she met her soulmate and love of her life Brett McCann. A wedding was being planned for September 2020 but Justyne was diagnosed with ovarian cancer in May 2020, so they wed by the ocean in June 2020. Justyne was always thankful and felt so very blessed to have such a wonderful extended family with David, Angie, Marissa, Kyle and Jenna.
Justyne had a passion for knitting, buying beautiful yarn, gardening and loving on her four-legged child Murphy their Golden Retriever. Her smile would light up a room, her wit and sarcasm where shared at just the right time and opinions on politics and controversial events were always given with great passion. She is so truly missed by all who knew her.
She leaves her husband Brett D. McCann; her parents Daniel and Kelly Myers of Bethel, ME; a sister Jessika Myers and brother William Myers, of Bethel, ME.
We want to thank the Oncologists and Nurses at Dana Farber and Brigham and Women’s hospital who have loved on our girl for the last three years, in lieu of flowers we are asking for donations to the DFCI, Jimmy Fund.
There are no calling hours. Justyne was very excited to celebrate her “dirty 30” this year so we have decided to have a “Dirty 30 Birthday Celebration” for her over the weekend of May 13th-15th. More information will be shared in the following weeks.
