Professor Keith H Corkum
Keith H. Corkum died on November 19th at Harrington Memorial Hospital in Southbridge, Mass. after a short Illness:
He was born in Worcester, Massachusetts on February 17, 1930, the son of Keith and Bernice Corkum. Keith was a Professor of Economics at Nichols College in Dudley, Massachusetts for over 40 years. During that time he held many positions serving as Head of the Economics Department, President of The Faculty
Association, and friend and advisor to many students. His name lives on in The Keith H Corkum Scholarship which is awarded to a deserving student
each year. He was a Korean War Veteran and he and his wife owned and operated several Montessori Schools in the area. In 1967, he received a National Science Foundation Award and subsequently went on to earn his PhD from Lehigh University in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. Keith loved his home in Dudley and spent much time watching the deer, arguing with the beaver, and always looking for and expecting to see a bear coming out of the woods.
Keith is survived by his wife of 60 years, Nancy, his three sons, Scott and his wife Tina, Jeffrey and his wife Phyllis, and Jason and his partner Danielle. He also leaves his grandchildren, Katie, Marielle, and Christopher.
A private service will be held with friends and family gathering together at a later date.
