Lawrence Peters Obituary

Lawrence W. Peters
1936-2025

Lawrence W. Peters, 88, of Thompson, formerly of Webster, passed away on January 14, 2025 at Saint Vincent Hospital after a period of declining health.

He was predeceased by his wife Barbara of 60 years.  He leaves a daughter, Leslie Kwasniewski and her husband Dean, a son, Brian Peters and his wife Lisa; and three grandchildren who he loved the most, Cody Kwasniewski, Katey Guerin and her husband Sean, and Ashlin Peters.

He was born in Webster, MA on June 9, 1936, son of Walter and Carrie (Pizzetti) Peters.

Lawrence is an Army Veteran who served for three years (1954-1957) and was promoted to Sergeant.  He was a plumber in the union before opening his own business, Peters Plumbing, which he operated for 40 years.  He was also the Board of Health Agent in the Town of Webster for four years.

He enjoyed polka dancing with his wife and grandchildren, and blasting polka music from his speaker!  After Sunday morning church, he would cook his famous spaghetti and meatballs for his family.  Occasional trips to the casino were common on the weekends, but the most important thing to him was spending time with his three grandchildren.

A graveside service, with military honors bestowed by the Webster-Dudley Veteran's Council, will be held on Friday, January 24, 2025, at 10:00 am in Mount Zion Cemetery, Webster.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude's Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or the Saint Louis Endowment Fund, 14 Lake Street, Webster, MA 01570.  Shaw-Majercik Funeral Home, 48 School Street, Webster is honored to assist with Lawrence's arrangements.  A memorial guestbook is available at www.shaw-majercik.com.
