Webster – Marie Monroe entered paradise on March 18, 2022 while surrounded by the love of her family at the UMass Memorial Medical Center in Worcester, shortly after celebrating her 83rd birthday.
Marie is survived by her beloved husband Del Monroe, with whom she has shared sixty blessed years of love and devotion; her son Steve Monroe and his fiancé Sharon Powers of Princeton, MA; her daughters Lorrie Monroe of Lebanon, PA, and Kathy Bilis and her husband Arthur of Dudley, MA; her grandson David Bilis, and her granddaughter Kara Bilis, both of Dudley; she also leaves many nieces, nephews, relatives, and dear friends. Marie was predeceased by her twin sister Maralyn Quillia.
Marie was born in Westfield, MA on March 13, 1939; she graduated from Commerce High School in Worcester going on to work for various financial institutions as a bank teller in Worcester and, for a time, in North Carolina. Marie was an avid gardener and reader; she was an active and faithful member of the Sts. Constantine & Helen Greek Orthodox Church; she enjoyed going to dinner and to the casino on occasion for family game nights. Marie’s greatest love was for her loving family who miss her dearly.
Calling Hours will be held on Wednesday March 23, 2022 from 10:00 – 11:00 am, followed by the funeral service at 11:00 am in Sts. Constantine & Helen Greek Orthodox Church, 35 Lake Parkway Webster, MA. Committal Services will follow in Mount Zion Cemetery.
