Marjorie Ingrid (Hammond) Simpson
1929 - 2026
Marjorie Ingrid (Hammond) Simpson, age 96, beloved wife of the late Robert Simpson, died Monday, March 23, 2026, at Webster Manor, where she had resided for the past two years.
Ingrid, as she was known to most, was born in Charlton, Massachusetts, daughter of the late Frank and Martha (Olson) Hammond.
After marrying her husband Bob, they moved to Hiawatha, Kansas. Ingrid last worked as a cook at Hiawatha Hospital and prior to her marriage she was an administrative assistant at Crompton-Knowles. Ingrid loved to cook, go to the casino and play bingo. She also enjoyed spending time with her family. Ingrid moved back to Charlton - Webster 15 years ago.
Ingrid is survived by a son, Jeffrey Simpson and his wife Karen of Great Falls, Montana; by her sisters, Lorraine Fortunato of Worcester, Helen Copeland and her husband David of Hemet, California, Marcia LeBlanc of Auburn, Massachusetts and Martha Hammond of Charlton, Massachusetts; a granddaughter, Holly Reed and two great-granddaughters, Claire and Hannah Reed. Ingrid was predeceased by her brothers, Ira Hammond, Henry Hammond and Barry Hammond; as well as by two sisters, Dorothy Hultin, Joan Lackstrom.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to visit with Ingrid’s family on Monday, March 30, 2026, from 10 am to 11 am in the Charlton City United Methodist Church, 74 Stafford Street, Charlton. A funeral service will follow at 11 am. Burial will take place in Northside Cemetery, Charlton. A memorial guest book is available at www.shaw-majercik.com. Shaw-Majercik Funeral Home & Cremation, 48 School Street, Webster has been entrusted with Ingrid’s arrangements.
