Plainfield, CT- Maurice N. Lapointe age 89, died Sunday, June 12, 2016 at Day Kimball Hospital in Putnam, CT.
He was the widow of the late Theresa M. A. (Poirier) Lapointe who died in 2013. He leaves three sons, Bernard of Carver, MA, Ronald of New Bedford, MA and Gerald of Portland, Oregon; three daughters; Lucie Scott of Plainfield, Yvette Wollenberg of Hopkinton, RI and Jennifer Lapointe of New London, CT; a brother, Robert of Dartmouth; a sister, Alice Pease of New Bedford; six grandchildren and one great-grandson. He was predeceased by a daughter, Elaine Lapointe of New Bedford, MA and a brother, Raymond Lapointe of Attleboro.
He was born in New Bedford, MA son of the late Joseph and Yvonne (Lachance) Lapointe and lived in Plainfield since 2013, prior to that living in Ocala, FL. He was a World War II United States Army Veteran. He was in sales most of his life. He is a member of the Knights of Columbus and enjoyed sports, football, the New England Patriots and the Boston Red Sox. He did gardening and was very active in Scouting

There are no calling hours. A memorial Mass will be will be held in the Sacred Heart of the Holy Name Church in New Bedford, Tue. 6/28/2015 at 9 AM with Military Honors in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Mt. Pleasant St., New Bedford. The Shaw-Majercik Funeral Home, 48 School Street, Webster, MA, has been entrusted with his arrangements.
