It is with great sadness that the Family of Mildred W. Osborne announce her passing. Mildred Osborne, 88 of Dayville passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 5, 2024 surrounded by family at Backus Hospital. She was born in Hartford, CT on January 10,1936. She was the daughter of the late Mildred Williams. She was the wife of the late Benjamin Harry Osborne.
Mildred was a loyal and active Jehovah’s Witness for over 71 years sharing Bible truths with others as a dedicated worshiper. She attended the Danielson, CT Congregation.
Mildred worked at G. Fox & Co., and for many years as a child care provider and also had a home cleaning business. Some things that our Mother enjoyed most were: Spending time with family and friends, being a second mother and grandmother to many, traveling and being a fan of the UCONN Huskies women’s basketball team.
She is survived by her 7 children, Sandra Whalen of Winsted, CT, Philip Osborne of San Diego, CA, Mischele Smith of Danielson, CT, Deborah Barrow of Warwick, RI, Michael Osborne of Warwick,RI, Jodi DeSoto of Leland, NC, Joseph Osborne of Willimantic, CT. Additionally she is survived by 7 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren, her sister Joyce Yancy of Willimantic, CT and her brother Spencer Copeland of Bradenton, Fl.
She was predeceased by her sisters, Loretta Geathers of Bradenton, FL, Shirley Marie Sneed of Asbury Park, N.J, her daughter Linda Wilson and granddaughter Amanda Osborne.
We would like to thank Dr. Joseph Botta as well as the staff at Westview Health Care Center for the care, support and assistance they provided.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 19, 2024 at 3pm, Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 1742 Atwood Avenue,Johnston,RI.
