Worcester – Patricia E. (Prew) Stavros, age 88, wife of the late Charles Stavros, passed away peacefully surrounded by family Thursday, January 9, 2025, at Notre Dame Health Care, Worcester.

Patricia was born in North Attleboro, the daughter of the late Sherwood and Winifred (Hogan) Prew.   She worked in retail throughout her career, including many years in her family business, McGrail’s Babyland, on Park Avenue in Worcester.  Retail was the perfect career choice as she loved people. A simple hello was all it took to initiate a far-reaching discussion on almost any topic. Patricia cherished her time at her home in York Beach Maine; tending her gardens, reading, and spending time with family and friends. She also had a deep lifelong affection for animals and cherished her many pets through the years, each occupying a special unique place in her heart.

Patricia is survived by her children, Shane McGrail of Manhattan, NY, Richard McGrail and his wife Catherine of North Easton, MA, Sean McGrail and his wife Judy of Hopkinton, Erin Garvin and her husband Dave of Worcester; by her grandchildren, Daniel, Bridget, Spencer, Sean and Emily; and by a great-granddaughter, Isabella.

In lieu of flowers it was Patricia’s wish that any memorial tributes be made in the form of charitable donations to St Jude Children’s Research Hospital (www.stjude.org) or the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (www.aspca.org).
