Paul J. Roukat

Paul J. Roukat, 60 years young, passed away Sunday, March 13, 2022, at Harrington Hospital in Southbridge, MA., after a short illness. 

He was born in Webster, MA, son of the late Henry Roukat and Stasia (Stawicki) Roukat, and lived in Dudley, MA.  Paul was predeceased by his brother Mark Roukat. 

Paul worked for Lelanite Corporation, in Webster, for many years.  He was an accomplished guitarist and had played with local bands, including Gravity, Veign, Revelation, Henry’s Wine, and his solo career as Paul James Project.  Paul was a passionate collector of guitars and vinyl record albums, and he enjoyed cooking and crackling woodstove fires.  He was a kind-hearted soul who genuinely had faith in the positive attributes of any individual or situation.

Paul leaves an aunt, Florence Wolenski of Dudley, MA.  He also leaves many cousins, among them Dan Roukat, Cynthia Zak, Sandra Roukat, Brenda Desmond, Linda Howarth, David Ostrowski, Patricia Barbour, Elaine Dabrowski, Ken Wolenski, Rand Greene, Meg Greene, Lisbeth Champney, and their families. He also leaves an aunt-by-marriage, Stella Roukat, whom he was close to. Paul was predeceased by many aunts, uncles and cousins. 

Paul also leaves many close friends, among them James Berry, Kevin Gelineau, John Joyce, Effie Kalterego, Markis Edmonds, and their families, who gave him support and comfort during his life and illness.  Paul also leaves behind his former band members and fellow musicians who were his extended family.

There are no calling hours.  A memorial service will be held in Paul’s honor at Sacred Heart Church in Webster at a later date.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Veteran’s Services, 4 Veteran’s Way, Webster, MA  01570, or any charity of your choice.
