Pauline R. Deschenes, passed away peacefully after a long life, well lived on July 9, 2023, at her daughter, Ann’s home located in Spencer, MA. She was born on May 28, 1929, in Spencer, MA, the daughter of Joseph Daunais and Antoinette Daunais (Hebert).
She worked for many years at Brookfield Shoe, Worcester Valve and AZAP. She retired when she was 83 years young. She enjoyed spending birthday celebrations and holidays with her family, traveling via camping and cruising. She enjoyed hobbies such as ceramics, sewing (clothing for her children) and bowling (both candlepin and 10 pin), in which she received many trophies.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Lionel A. Deschenes; a sister, Claire; a brother, Lucien; and a brother, Roland. Pauline is survived by her daughter, Ann M. Ramsey and her husband Harold W. Ramsey, Jr. of Spencer, MA; daughter, Jeanne E. Johnson and her husband Jeffrey J. Johnson of Casa Grande, AZ; three grandchildren; Laura E. Ramsey of Royalston, MA; Harold W. Ramsey III, of Washington, DC; and Benjamin L. Ramsey of Spencer, MA.
The family of Pauline would like to thank her case manager Janessa of Tri Valley services, Rhoda of Seraphic Springs Health Care Agency and her 2 home health aides Angie and Kelly. They all were of great support to Ann and Pauline these past 3 and ½ years, providing services which enabled her to live an independent life within her home. We would also like to thank Beacon Hospice and the wonderful nurses who supported the family in caring for Pauline.
At the family’s request there will be no visitation/services, and burial will be private.
The family suggests memorial donations be made to Second Chance Animal Shelter, 111 Young Road, East Brookfield, MA 01515.
