Rafael Valentin Obituary

Webster- Rafael Valentine age 62, passed away at his home with his loving family at his side Saturday, March 4, 2023,  He was born in Cabo RoJo, Puerto Rico in 1960 where he spent his young childhood.  He came to the U.S. in 1970 and resided most of his life in Webster, MA with his loving wife Avrea Valentine of 48 years.  He was a graduate of Springfield College where he earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Human Services.  Rafael worked for the Department of Children and Families.  He retired after twenty three years, before his two year battle with cancer.  Rafael was also a talented mechanic.  He was an avid basketball player.  Rafael was a musician and spent most of his time playing his music.  He was avid fishermen and loved to scuba dive.  He had a great love for his friends and family, he will surely be missed by all. Rafael is survived by his loving wife Avrea, sons Rafael Jr.,and Alex Valentine, daughter Mirriam “Bibi” Valentin, grandchildren, Justice, Julissa, Kassandra, and Lila Valentin.  He also leaves his brothers Anibal and Pedro Jr. Valentin, sisters Ada Valentin, Mirriam Malave and Jenny Guzman, his mother Leida Navado and all his nieces and nephews.

The funeral will be held Saturday, March 11, 2023 from the Shaw-Majercik Funeral Home, 48 School St., Webster with a Mass of Christian burial St. Louis Church at 10 am with burial in Mt. Zion Cemetery, Webster.  Calling hours at the funeral home will be Friday March 10, 2023 from 5-8PM.  A guest book is available at www.shaw-majercik.com where you may post a condolence or light a candle.
