Randy Chamberland Obituary

Randy Michael Chamberland
1967-2025

Moosup – Randy Michael Chamberland, age 58, died Wednesday, October 22, 2025, at home, surrounded by his loving family.

Randy was born in Putnam, CT, son of the late Donald “Big Butch” and Kathleen (Roy) Chamberland and lived in Moosup all his life. He was a self-employed truck driver, owning and operating RC Trucking for many years. Prior to buying his own truck, he worked for his father at Butch’s No Name Trucking.

Affectionately known to many as “The Governor of Moosup”, Randy was a 38 year member of the Moosup Fire Department, serving as an officer and engineer. His family was involved in stock car racing and motorcross and sponsored both as “Big Butch Motor Sports”.

Randy enjoyed going to wild game dinners with his friends. He enjoyed going to the casino to play slots and bingo. One of his favorite past times was going out to dinner.

For many years, Randy and his family would participate in the Moosup VJ Day Parade and entertain the crowd dressed as clowns.

Randy is survived by his companion of 37 years, Holly L. Tetreault of Moosup; his son, Brandon Chamberland and his wife Nicole (Waterman) of Moosup; also by Brittany Bunn and her husband Kyle; by his brothers, Scott Chamberland and his wife Sharon of Moosup, John Chamberland and his wife Julie of Plainfield; his sister, Karen LaFrance and her husband Lou of Moosup; six grandchildren, Kendall Chamberland, Kaylee Chamberland, Ryan Chamberland, Jameson Bunn, Ryleigh Bunn and Emaleigh Bunn; by his Godparents, Rudy and Jackie Trahan; many friends and colleagues. In addition to his parents, Randy was predeceased by two sons, Ryan Lee Tetreault-Chamberland, Donald Paul Chamberland, and by a brother, Gary Chamberland.
