Raymond T Whitney Jr. Passed away peacefully with his loving family by his side on Tuesday, June 28th, 2022.
Ray leaves behind his former wife Shirley Whitney of North Brookfield, two daughters - Deborah Duplisea and her husband Robert of Barre and Ellen Hall of Rutland, a son Richard Whitney of North Brookfield and three grandchildren- Cody, Travis and Drew Hall of Rutland. He also leaves his good friend Donny Richard and his best friend of 30+ years, Jane Wojcik of Ware. He was predeceased by his three siblings Phyllis, Robert and Bernard Whitney.
Ray was born in Ware MA on August 8th, 1930 to Raymond T and Emeline (Messier) Whitney of Barre.
Ray was a hard working man - he worked in the construction industry assisting with the building of the Massachusetts Turnpike and the New Jersey Turnpike. He also worked on the building of Wachusett High School. Ray drove tractor trailer for Finan's Express of Barre and owned and operated Whitney Carpet Co. in North Brookfield for over 35 years.
Over the years Ray had many passions and interests including flying, golfing, hunting, gardening, polka dancing and traveling in his motor homes. He also greatly enjoyed the beach and watching baseball and football and spending time with his family and friends.
